It's not the things themselves that worry us,
it is what we think about things
Stoa and Pantheism
God as the Logos of the World - Theater as Divine Service

Excerpts and interpretation of Wolfgang Weinkauf's "The Philosophy of the Stoa" (Reclam 2018).
- Imagination of the organic, the self-perpetuating, stabilizing cosmos, in particular: Gaia
- Cosmopolitanism (fundamental equality of all people)
- The legal order of the human society must correspond to the natural total order and is only legitimated by it.
- Homology means: the action is in accordance with reason and thereby also with nature
- Law exists by nature and not by human positing. This natural law is an analogue of the laws of nature.
- That which is by nature is good because it has been stable for a very long time (e.g. the laws of nature).
- It can be taken into account by us and set as further stable.
- The task of the human being is therefore to act by virtue of his reason (logos, mathematics) (and e.g. to consider the "tipping elements" - Tipping Elements - the Achilles Heels of the Earth System).
- The human reason, which is part of the All-reason, is to comprehend the inner order of the cosmos, which in turn was created by the All-reason. While
- the religious man (homo religiosus) is the instrument of the self-glorification of the deity,
- the philosophical man (homo philosophicus), who has fallen out of the protective myth, serves the self-encounter of the Logos.
- The German Enlightenment of the 18th century adopted such Stoic principles (e.g. Kant).
- Demand of acting according to the laws of nature,
- a life of duty: Christian Grave was commissioned by Frederick II to translate Cicero's "de officiis" (also called the Catechism in reference to the Greek) and to use it as school reading.
We live in a space with the 3 dimensions
- Logic (mathematics as doctrine of structures or possibilities, which exist independently and therefore also before e.g. matter and energy)
- Physics (teaching of nature, e.g. matter and energy)
- Ethics (doctrine of man) with the parts
- Values definition,
- love for the values and desire for them - order and measure in this love,
- practical realization of the love.
Cicero:
- Logic and physics are virtues because they bring us into harmony with the self-stabilizing cosmos.
- Without the orientation which these disciplines (mathematics, physics) offer, i.e. without Ratio,
- we get into an unreality (into a distance from nature, into an opposition to nature), which has no place in nature. Acting in this delusion, man sets nature on an unpredictable path.
- we leave the niche that Gaia offers us.
The Stoa designs a closed overall system in which the divine and nature (physis) form a unity, i.e.
- the nature of the cosmos
- the workings of fate,
- the meaning of "divination" (statements of wise men, i.e. people who are familiar with the spaces 1 - 3. Johannes Kepler calls them (and himself) "priests at the book of nature"),
- the earth and its peoples,
- the character of the matter and the energy.
Divine laws order the processes to such a high degree that one can call
- the processes themselves can be called divine,
- world and God are hardly distinguishable (pantheism).
Origin and evolution:
- in the beginning there are two principles
- Spirit, also known as
- Logos,
- in the Bible "the Word",
- language,
- reason,
- soul,
- divinity,
- mathematics,
- Matter
Matter is formed by logos. The cosmos is a synthesis of spirit and matter.
Stoic Big Bang
- The materialization of the Logos as a condition of its effect happens through the fire, which forms the universe as a cosmic primeval substance.
- By the fire also a cosmic cycle of emergence and decline is determined.
- Eusebius of Caesarea: The entire universe goes up in certain periods in fire, in order to form then again anew (example: Sodoma and Gomarrha).
- The primeval fire is like a seed, which holds all reasons and causes of that, what was, becomes and will become, in itself. In the interweaving (mathematics) and natural law (physical) consequence of this course the knowledge and the truth and the inescapable and inevitable law of the world consists.
